In 2018, Alana founded and formerly served as the Executive Director The Safe Sisters Circle, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that provides culturally specific, trauma-informed, and holistic services for Black women survivors of sexual and domestic violence living primarily in Washington, DC’s Wards 7 and 8 that has had an positive impact on survivors and that community as whole. After Alana’s transition, the organization continues to thrive under a new rising Black women leader.
